ABOUT MARK LEES

Mark is an aspiring Dubbing Mixer and graduate Glasogw School of Arts B(Des) Sound for the Moving Image course. Mark made his start in musical performance before attending college as West College Scotland to learn recording and mixing music. During his time there he learned and developed a passion in sound design for film.

In 2018 Mark was a member of a student team involved in the recording of a live concert performance by Baby Chaos in Oran Mor, Glasgow. He expanded on this work in 2019 by achieving his first professional credit as a Dubbing Editor working with Velvet Wolf Films on short film “Haggis”, a modern take on the Robert Burns’ poem “Address to a Haggis” which then aired on BBC Scotland.

Mark believes that film and video games are the perfect combination of sound and visual media in which we can tell each other stories:

"We can place each other in distant worlds, or in someone else’s shoes on the other side of our world, in a situation that we could never find ourselves in and make them invest in the outcome of the characters, whether real or fictional. There are very few other situations in which this applies, and it is what makes me so passionate about this industry, there is nothing like it."
